What is your favorite word?

Erin #1:

Changes all the time... Constantly playing with my language. Maybe 'provocative'.  I love to describe things as provocative, really has a solid weight and emphasis.

Erin #2:

I have two. I did a research project on 'dandy' when I was in a linguistics class, so that's always a favorite. The other is 'poppycock'.

Erin #3:

Well, if I'm being completely honest, "fuck." :)

Erin #4:

Erin #5 (Me):

This one is hard. I love words, and I am always finding new ones to try out and work into conversation. I think my all-time favorite word has to be 'discombobulate':

Discombobulate (dis-kom-BOB-yah-late) –to confuse or disconcert; upset; frustrate

Conclusion: I am seeing a pattern emerge with Erin #4's answers. After reading all the answers, I think I am going to try all these words out in regular conversation—with the exception of Erin #3's. While I applaud the honesty, I just can't get myself to say that word (at least not on purpose when people are around).
