The Holidays or Christmas?

I celebrate Christmas. I can't say that I celebrate "the holidays" because I don't celebrate Hanukkah, Kwanza or any of the other religious holidays that come around every winter. I respect and appreciate those who do celebrate their own holidays though. I also think it is a wonderful idea to be inclusive when decorating for this time of year in a public setting- like a University office.

That said, I should not be scowled at, given dirty looks to, or receive under-the-breath comments because I choose to say Merry Christmas instead of Happy Holidays. Instead, if I say Merry Christmas and you actually celebrate Hanukkah, grow a pair and say so. To which I will happily revise my exclamatory to Happy Hanukkah.
